Emma Kitcher (nee Cooper)
Director & Lead Consultant
BACKGROUND
Data Protection and Freedom of Information Practitioner and holds a Masters in Information Rights Law and Practice with focus on algorithmic decision making and the impact on privacy.
SPECIALIST AREAS
Complex, multi-agency information sharing projects, transparency/fair processing campaigns, data protection impact assessments, liaising with Information Commissioner, information risk management, HIPAA to GDPR gap analysis and compliance projects.
PERSONAL
Pragmatic, cheerful and geeky! Loves being in Brighton and being by the sea.
Hannah Calway
Disclosures and Incidents Consultant
BACKGROUND
Studied Law with Business at Brighton University. This included information and EU law, Contract, TORT and Criminal Studies. Experience in Power of Attorney.
SPECIALIST AREAS
Contracts, information rights requests, incident management and data protection impact assessments.
PERSONAL
And most importantly, Hannah is a self-identified nerd, with a home full of games consoles, comic book paraphernalia and – her absolute favourite – Harry Pottery merchandise galore!
She is a proud member of the Slytherin house.
Jeff Pullen
Information Security Consultant
BACKGROUND
Having spent 6 years at a Fortune 500 company, Jeff then gained invaluable experience within outsourced IT.
He then left the ‘big smoke’ to start his own IT company in beautiful Cornwall. His experience working as an employee and owning his own company spans almost every industry at every size.

Cyber security, system administration, networking, IT support and customer service.
PERSONAL
Enthusiastic, curious and friendly. Guaranteed to disappear down the rabbit hole of research. Loves living by the sea.
Maddy Watson
Governance Consultant
BACKGROUND
Maddy studied Psychology and Criminology then proceeded to work in various administrative roles in a variety of businesses. Having been at Kafico for over a year, Maddy has gained an interest in Corporate Governance, and so moved seamlessly into the role of Governance Consultant.

PERSONAL
Eccentric and chatty, Maddy loves anything social and getting to know new people. If you can teach her something new she’ll be all ears as she loves learning!
Chris Hollis
Project Coordinator
BACKGROUND
Chris studied Psychology, Business and Human Resources and brings a wealth of cross sector experience to our team from sales coordination to the healthcare sphere and finance.

Processing Contracts, Due Diligence, Data Flow Maps and Lawfulness.
PERSONAL
Another self confessed nerd, Chris loves research, academic debate and punk and ska music. He loves a good documentary and is partial to a pink gin.
Marina Polin
SAR Administrator
BACKGROUND
Marina studied Special Education and is now continuing her studies in Psychotherapy whilst supporting us here at Kafico.
Having worked previously in a nursery, she is enjoying the change of pace and the chance to enhance her knowledge in data protection.
SPECIALIST AREAS
Although her studies seem like a vastly different subject matter to the work we do, it is her aptitude to reading and processing sensitive data that makes her such an incredible asset to the team.
PERSONAL
Marina likes to enjoy all the beautiful nature in East Sussex, including walking, cycling, and swimming in the sea. She also loves to read a good book.
Lou Pullen
SAR Administrator
BACKGROUND
Lou has a degree in Business Management and Marketing and from there grew her own successful online business from home in 2018. After having a little one, Lou decided to join Kafico on a part-time basis.
SPECIALIST AREAS
Although marketing and making things look pretty may seem worlds away from what Kafico does, it provided Lou with a keen eye for detail, and she loves getting a task through to completion.
PERSONAL
When she isn’t working, she can probably be found on the beach in Cornwall scruffling dogs, exploring the coastal path or at home watching a good documentary with a glass of red.
Rachel Denyer
SAR Coordinator
BACKGROUND
With extensive experience in administrative roles Rachel has taken like a duck to water with the Data Protection world. Progressing quickly from Assistant to Coordinator, she is enjoying the continued development and her growing ability to apply the newfound knowledge to her daily tasks.
SPECIALIST AREAS
Rachel’s degree in International Relations along with her empathetic nature mean she is incredibly adept at processing personal records, as well as providing support to her wider KMDS team members.
PERSONAL
Rachel loves to be out and about, whether that be in the countryside on a long walk, a swim in the sea, or in the city going for a dance and socialising with friends. She also loves a good book with a delicious coffee and a museum here and there.
Harrison Box
SAR Administrator
BACKGROUND
Harrison graduated with a degree in English Literature in 2022, going on to teach English for a variety of ages before joining us here at Kafico.
SPECIALIST AREAS
A degree in English Literature has allowed Harrison to analyse great quantities of information, possessing a perceptive and sensitive approach to data protection.
PERSONAL
When not at work, like the rest of the team, Harrison loves learning and frequently finds himself in the midst of a deep dive into anything related to history, politics or science fiction!
Gerald
Kafico Mascot
BACKGROUND
Gerald joined us in 2018 when he was only the size of a tin of beans and has moved with us to three different offices .
SPECIALIST AREAS
Gerald is excellent at producing new leaves regularly.
Despite being left unattended and un-watered for 6 months in the office during COVID, he thrived.
PERSONAL
Gerald doesn’t like being near the radiator and loves listening to jungle music
